This lovely 1950's Windsor style fireside lounge chair is in very good sturdy condition, it retains its original posture sprung seat.The later, foam seat and back cushions, are replacements. The cushions have been re covered in a red Damask material, although used the cover is still serviceable.
The style and design of the chair is very similar to the Ercol chairs of the period, maybe a product of a rival High Wycombe firm of the era.The chairs unusual "gothic" design, has been taken from the Windsor chairs that High Wycombe is famous for.
The hand scraped elm top rail and beechwood partial scraped back splats, along with the splayed legs contrast beautifully with the Dove Grey painted frames. The combination of the unique retro design and the on trend makeover, give this chair an outstanding new look of its own.
